a look in my sketchbook

here comes a new series guys!! a look inside my sketchbook. I will share a few fashion sketches every once in a while! I got these  awesome body templates from idrawfashion.com.
So here goes:
These first two outfits are party outfits! The purple cross hatching design purse looks really bold against the multi colored one shoulder dress with a big fluffy bow thing at the shoulder as an accent. Also those wire star earrings.
The second dress is just an a- line fitted gray dress with a lace trim at the bottom (the lace was perfected with help from a tutorial at idrawfashion.com too) and then magenta fishnets over periwinkle tights to add a bright pop of color. I got the inspiration for the tights from a book. sadly, I was not the genius who thought up layering tights;)

This  last dress was inspired by katie from skunkboyblog.com, who's style i LOVE! It is a red overall jumper with a white pocket and big white buttons. Underneath is a purple trimmed puffy sleeved peter pan blouse and the shoes are retro brown t-strap mary janes.

Like em? I hope so!

american honey

Hi guys! Its me micah. I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long, I have neglected the blog for TEN WHOLE DAYS! so sorry:) its hard to keep up sometimes, because right now my followers/pageviews are dwindling, and when people aren't checking and getting excited to see, i have less motivation to keep my followers satisfied. so yes. Now for the post! Just a quickie outfit! An adorable retro style sundress I got on clearance at belk!
so check out the pics. My picinc outfit.
Dress: Red Camel/ Belk Shoes: Cato + DIY (ok so I didn't follow the directions all the way, because when i wrapped the straps, they looked... lumpy. btw to see my original try for this tutuorail, request it in the comments and i'll prob post the pix tomorrow and it took way more strips than the tutorial called for. probs because of the awkward straps on my flip flops but... so i decided to modpodge a piece of fabric instead of wrap strips of fabric for the straps)
Earrings: Gift Nail Polish: OPI my Chihuahua bites Paper basket: this awesome DIY which I'm am using for an upcoming picnic! Yay!

So you like the outfit? I hope! Don't forget to comment or like or respond at the bottom with your feedback- I really appreciate it!

what mommies want

Happy Mother's Day! Yay! I've checked out some gift guides from craft places, like Martha Stewart and a few other websites, but really nothing seemed right! I mean my mom would flip if I bought her$20 nail polish! and she doesn't want Parisian iced tea, that's for sure! We are Southern, she likes Sweet tea! Anyways, for all the others out there who want to get their momma a super special gift.. here is the bonafide Lendroit de style gift guide!
1.Sweaters! Moms love sweaters! (at least mine does;) So here a some tried and true cardigans perfect for mothers day!: Also great to personalize with embroidery! Most sweaters have ribbed sleeves, so do a zig zag stitch around the very edge of both sleeves stacking the rows of embroidery until you have about 3 rows of zigzags circling the sleeves! Or pastel french knots around the collar.

For the quirky, crafty and cooking mom, these garden themed kitchen utensils are so sweet and unique! They are useful, so practical, and cute, pretty and neat, so moms will love it!
xk: modcloth.com

a cute gift is always like personalized stationary, but to make it even more personal, diy! Put together a stamping card/note card kit for your mom after making about 10-15 of your own.
These are some examples:   Also: to make a matching pen get a plain stick pen and paint it in mod podge, cover that in matching paper, and modpodge over it again.
xk monogram: by heritage and joy on etsy, paper: Micheal's envelopes and blank paper products:jampaper.com   paper cut out: Martha Stewart
Another cute idea is a mini scrapbook! You can buy a little kit(like the one here from scrapbookgifts.com) You can personalize it and its great because its cute and portable, so it can go in a purse, or be displayed on the coffee table, It can be sweet and sentimental, or cute and quirky!

Pearl jewelry. Almost every woman loves pearls. they are dainty and feminine, yet chic and trendy, and durable! You can go classic, or funky and new!

mommy and children necklaces! You can get these personalized at department stores with birthstones and dresses for girls and pants for boys! My mom has one and it is so cute!
heart one: Limoges jewelry: charms: aunties treasures.com

Classic things like breakfasts in bed or homemade cards are awesome! also i love fancy tissue paper flowers, or bread and glue dough flowers(i feel a tutorial coming on!) are great too! as long as what you give comes from the heart. have a happy mother's day.
